This 1960s-style semi-psychedelic pattern in watercolor monochromatic blues depicts the very beginnings of life at the center with early life evolving outward until the end of the Permian Period. At that time, life suffered its biggest extinction ever, with over 90 percent of life disappearing from the fossil record.
Many of the creatures and plants from the Paleozoic period look totally alien to us, unlike anything alive today. If you look closely you’ll spot a few familiar looking plants and animals: dragonflies, cockroaches, millipedes, ferns, sea weed, horsetails, sea stars, jellies, and the humble chimaera among others. All of them are truly ancient survivors. They’re sometimes called ‘living fossils’, having survived relatively unchanged through vast periods of time.
There's also a special Easter egg! See if you can spot the totally anachoronistic cheeseburgers in the design! Renowned science artist Ray Troll brings exquisite design and humor to the illustration of ancient life.
With 3/4 sleeves and deep pockets, a ruched V-neck finish bodice in a super comfy, stretchy viscose fabric.
